The residents of Friar Park & Wednesbury live just a stone’s throw away from the Bescot Stadium train station. But there is no easy way to access the site. This seems ridiculous how hundreds of residents could be just a short walk away from accessing a good train station, yet have no way to safely access it.
So, I’m working with West Midlands Railway, the combined authority and others to fund a bridge over the tracks to Friar Park. So that we can unlock the job opportunities in centres like Birmingham and Walsall for local people. This is what levelling-up really means for me – making people’s lives easier so they can fulfil their potential and access every new opportunity that comes their way.
