Today, Birmingham City Council has announced that they will be unable to complete the Athlete's Village in time for the Commonwealth Games in two years time.
Once again, the City Council has failed to deliver on it's promises. This means that world-class athletes will be forced to stay in student halls for the games.
However, this whole debacle once again puts the demolition of the Perry Barr flyover into question. If there will no longer be an athlete's village, then why do we need to demolish the flyover?
I'm firmly against the the flyovers demolition; it will create chaos for the residents of West Bromwich east and the wider region.
So, I wrote to Cllr Ian Ward, the Leader of Birmingham City Council today. Once again setting out my opposition to the demolition of the flyover. You can read my letter to him here.
