It was a huge honour to be elected to serve the people of West Bromwich East on 12th December 2019, an area that has not elected a Conservative MP since 1931! Coming from generations of Baggies supporters, this area of the Black Country feels like home. Time and time again on the doorstep people told me the same story - they have been under represented and not listened to for years. It's time for that to change. I am an MP for everyone and work tirelessly to ensure West Bromwich East, and the West Midlands, receives the investment it deserves. I am on your side.
I grew up in Dudley and served my community on Dudley Council after first being elected in 2015. I spent the early part of my career working in public relations for the Jewish Leadership Council and the Holocaust Educational Trust, before joining West Midlands Mayor, Andy Street's team.
As a committed Brexiteer, I voted and campaigned to leave the EU in the 2016 referendum. Within days of my election to Parliament, I cast my vote so that we could leave the EU on 31st January 2020 and then joined the Committee on the Future Relationship with the European Union.
I have always been active across West Midlands communities and I have used that same drive and energy in West Bromwich East. Throughout my career I have sought to campaign against racism and antisemitism and I believe we need to build a society that works for everyone, not just a privileged few.
I am campaigning to create good jobs for local people; level up our transport infrastructure; make sure all children have access to good schools; get our hospitals the funding they require and make sure our high streets are attractive places for businesses to thrive.
Since being elected to Parliament, I have sat on both the Education Select Committee and the Women and Equalities Select Committee. I currently serve as Parliamentary Private Secretary (PPS) to the Leader of the House of Commons, Penny Mordaunt MP.
In addition to my roles in Parliament, I am also the Conservative Party’s representative on the International Young Democratic Union, and was formerly a Trustee of The Albion Foundation, the charity partner of West Bromwich Albion Football Club.
