Stop 50 new homes on Tanhouse Avenue

The Black Country Plan is a legal document that sets out the approach of our local Councils to meet our housing needs over the next few decades. It considers all sites around the area and designates them for housing use.

We've had some great news this week that the land off Wilderness Lane, Great Barr has been saved from the bulldozers. The site could've been turned into 2,500 homes but, thanks to opposition from local residents, this will now no longer be the case.

However, it was bitterly disappointing to hear that land at Tanhouse Avenue, Hamstead, has now been designated for housing.

The site, off Tanhouse Avenue, has been earmarked for 50 new properties. We are completely against this with a view on how it will affect nearby roads, surgeries, and school places.

So, we're working to stop this. And we need your support.

As we saw in Great Barr, when the local community makes their voice heard, we have a good chance of saving our precious green spaces for future generations.

So, we've set up a petition to Sandwell MBC to try and save land off Tanhouse Avenue from the bulldozers.

We're going to focus on redeveloping our forgotten brownfield. So that we can protect our precious greeen spaces.

Protect Our Green Spaces

For too long, the solution to our housing problems has been to bulldoze our precious green space whilst derelict industrial sites remain untouched. So, I support a brownfield first approach so that we build the homes that we need whilst protecting our environment.
