Labour-run Sandwell Council's latest attempt to punish residents and visitors to West Bromwich has been postponed, following a petition from Nicola regarding their proposed parking charge increases.
The Council proposed a 233% increase in car parking charges which would make them far higher than any other town in Sandwell.
The decision has now been deferred to June 2023.
Commenting, Nicola said: "Thanks to the petition I gathered, Sandwell Council have been forced to defer increasing these charges. I have now been told that a final decision will be made in June.
"Whilst I hope that this is not a cynical move by Labour to push the issue past the local elections, their record on these matters is so poor that I fear this might be exactly the reason for the delay. On top of their unfair garden tax, the new car tax will punish the hard working people of West Bromwich East and I will continue to oppose these damaging charges."
