Every day I speak to young people across West Bromwich, Wednesbury, and Great Barr. They all tell me that there isn’t enough to do for people their age in our Town.
So, that’s why I’m backing a campaign to build a new OnSide youth centre in the area.
Just up the road in Wolverhampton, there is a fantastic youth centre run by the charity OnSide who’s mission is to impower young people to lead positive, fulfilling lives by providing access to incredible spaces and exceptional youth work, delivered by outstanding people, where they are needed the most.
Their ‘Youth Zone’ does a fantastic job at supporting young people from all walks of life. And I think it’s time to get one built in West Bromwich East.
I feel so strongly about this issue that I raised it in the House of Commons Chamber. Children’s Minister Vicky Ford confirmed that the Government would support me in my campaign, which will be music to the ears of many people in West Bromwich East who also feel we’re lacking certain facilities.
Again, it feels like certain groups and communities in West Bromwich East have simply been forgotten about over the last few decades. I’m determined to change this.
