On the 27th January, Black Country Councils (including Sandwell MBC) will be returning to the High Court to seek the renewal of the injunction which banned car cruising. If successful, it will mean that the injunction is extended for a further three years.
Car cruising and boy racers affect people's lives across the constituency. Their dangerous driving creates unwanted noise and air pollution. Not to mention putting the lives of innocent bystanders at risk.
Therefore, I am glad to hear that the four Black Country Councils will be going back to the High Court to seek not just an extension to the injunction. But a variation so that spectators of these events are included.
Residents are encouraged to submit their views, comments and observations on this important issue.
All comments received will be presented to the high court as evidence. You can have your say by emailing litigation@wolverhampton.gov.uk by 4 pm on Thursday 21st January.
I will be writing to the High Court myself in order to support the extension of the injunction. And I encourage you to do the same.
