Newton Road is an important thoroughfare. It connects West Bromwich with Great Barr and into Birmingham. But for residents around the road, it is a source of noise and air pollution. And we've recently seen a number of car cruisers on the road.
People like this regularly break the speed limit and drive dangerously. Especially in the backdrop of a number of tragic but preventable pedestrian fatalities over the last few years.
Therefore, I have launched a campaign for Sandwell MBC to reactivate the already-existing speed cameras along the course of the road. So that we can begin to cut down on speeders and boy racers on the road. And begin to make Great Barr safe again.
